so lately i've been interested in low brow/pop surrealism art, and an artist that is part of that genre that i discovered and really like is isabel samaras. she uses retro pop icons from movies and tv shows and combines them with classic and renaissance style paintings mostly. here are some of my favorites: haha, obviously i gravitate more to her gay themed pieces, but i just find her ideas really interesting (and i keep thinking 'i wish i thought of that!!') well, here is her website: www.astrocat.com/samaras/so yeah, just felt like sharing! i'm really interested in studying this art genre more and i might pick up a few books on it when i get some extra money.

That art is very good, but I have to say i personally i don't really like it sorry, I really like this guys art Eldiman's deviantart gallery, but this art and that art are not the same so I dunno lol, but I like charcoal drawings very much, they just seem so different then every other medium to me.

i think i mostly enjoy the humor aspect to it. it's just so silly, y'know? and i like it when artists don't take their work so seriously that there's no room for being silly or funny.
but along with that it's also skilled and original, while being somewhat unoriginal in a way.

i like them all for its silliness. but as an artist, im more for sketches, so i know the "how you work" thats how i learn to draw ^^;;

The thing with losing passion for anime, I mean. But, I'm slowly getting into it again, because of "Revolutionary Girl: Utena", which, ironically, is a pretty old franchise. However, I doubt that I'll ever be as fond of it as I was a long time ago, since I've got a lot of other interests now.
