I've seen this film twice already. Touching, funny, a stark view on teenage child birth with out being preachy? Genius.
Kudo's to Ellen Paige for creating someone that's both shocking and charming in the same sentence. Any one who isn't completely mesmerized by the lead by the end should get their pulse checked.
It's a bit of a chick flick but sod it - go see it!

I was amazed when it did so much business. I think it's great but it's no American Pie.
I guess the hype machine got to this one....

i try to not let the hype thing get me though, i prefer to be unbiased... still, something about it didn't sit quite right with me. but i did like it.. i just felt certain parts were very very contrived and unnatural.

Really? I found it on the most part to be genuine and brutally honest - what part of it didn't sit right with you?

i think the fact that the beginning felt SO scripted (as in every single line had some kind of... punchline, i guess) immediately made me feel weird about it. it got better later on though.
and the quirkiness of some characters seemed fake to me at times. (especially juno)
you could play a drinking game to this movie - every time juno refers to her unborn child as an object she needs to shove out of her body, take a shot! hahahaha
i really think this story would work loads better as a comic.

I do see what you mean - she does spend her time talking about the baby as if it were a knackered 80's stereo she was chucking out... I think if anyone played your drinking game they would be shitfaced pretty quickly

Juno is way too rough and fake. It's a bit of an unbelievable character, really.
BUT I must admit she's fucking hilarious. I loved this movie.
